It’s time for some Monday Motivation because a new week is a chance to start over if you need it, or an opportunity to keep going when you’re on track! Also, puppies.
How was your week?
Here are a few snippets of mine
…. Started a fire in my kitchen. Main reason is that I’m an idiot/clumsy. I panicked for a second then I remembered I have done this before and know how to kill it. KILL IT WITH FIRE. It’s not a failure if you learn from it, as the profound quotes say.
…. Watched Black Mirror on Netflix. Some of the episodes are incredibly fascinating and definitely thought-provoking.
…. Finished Christmas shopping! It was about time I started, though I usually don’t have the last one in the bag before the 23rd so you could say I’ve been pretty good this year!
…. Visited the centre for asylum seekers again and continue work on the project with my group – the deadline is the 23rd, but we all want to go home for Christmas before that.
…. Went for a short run and tried deadlifting again! I haven’t deadlifted in years, and it felt so great to try again. I did multiple sets of 12 @ 30kg and one set of 40 kg for 12 reps. I felt like I could do more, but S rightly told me it was a better idea to take it slow and make sure my knee could handle. It felt fine the day after so I am hungry for more!
…. Completed my goal of going to the gym 4 times! It is a bit of a struggle with so long days at uni, but as I won’t be able to go to the gym while I’m visiting my parents I wanted to take advantage of it.
…. My other goal was to stretch and work on my mobility more. Which I did. The problem was my shorts wasn’t ready to stretch, and thus I ripped them at the gym.
Things I’m totally gonna do this week
- Go to the gym as much as I can before I head home for the holidays
- Have a lovely Christmas! (Can’t believe it’s already this week!)
And that’s really all I want to do this week! There’s no reason to put extra pressure on yourself at this time of year, just take it slow and enjoy yourself. Because that’s what Christmas is about to me – being able to slow down and get into hygge-mode. Go offline for a little while if that’s what you need to enjoy the company around you – whatever it is you need to genuinely feel good.
