It’s time for some Monday Motivation because a new week is a chance to start over if you need it or an opportunity to keep going if you’re on track! Also, puppies.
Hello from my comfy bed. I am having a slow start on this Monday
blogging studying from home and wanted to have a little chat with you. How was your week?
Here are a few snippets from mine
…. I went to a seminar about anxiety and learned a lot about the physiological background and treatment options
…. They recommended a few volunteer organisations where you can meet up at cafés with other people who also has a mental illness
…. Especially after a guy, during a discussion class at uni, basically said ‘mental health care is not important as long as there are fat people’
…. Needless to say, it upset me a lot, especially because he generally seemed smart – but that statement is just wrong on so many levels
…. I also learned that kidney beans contain very high concentrations of the naturally occurring toxin Phytohaemagglutinin that can cause food poisoning. It’s destroyed if the beans are cooked for long enough at a high enough temperature. I’ll spare you from the graphic details of what happened a few hours after dinner.
…. I got my new glasses and it’s weird to get used to. If you’re curious about how the glasses look, you might be lucky to catch a glimpse on my Insta story
…. I had tea with the kindest asylum seekers during a centre visit for university. It was really interesting to get a look into how they live and who they are because the news are usually very inflammatory about a subject like this.
…. Been listening to the podcasts Freakonomics and Tell Me Something I Don’t Know on my bike ride to uni and during my workouts. If you like learning random stuff and discover new ways to think about the world I’ll strongly recommend them!!
… Spend a few days doing nothing but classes – sleep – eat the food S cooked for me – sleep… zzZzZzz
…. I went to the gym 4 times this week. None of the workouts were AMAZING but that’s probably because I’ve been so tired…. But I made it to the gym anyway and it’s such a good mental break
…. But I made it to the gym anyway and it’s such a good mental break
…. I had chocolate every single day (don’t you just love advent calendars?)
…. I still haven’t done any Christmas gift shopping….. 💩
Things I’m totally gonna do this week
- Start Christmas shopping: I’m so bad at gift-giving, I always overthink it. But it’s about time I get started on it. Please tell me I’m not the only one
- Gym gym gym: I got 4-5 workouts planned this week. I got a good streak going and I want to keep it up!
- Don’t forget to stretch: Mobility and flexibility is not my strong suit – which is both why I don’t enjoy doing it and why I should do it more. Especially because it helps reduce the pain in my knee.
Things that’ll show up on the blog this week
so get excited!
Well, my for some reasons my professors thinks Christmas Eve and assignment deadlines go hand in hand. I have a workout + Christmas cookie recipe planned but to be honest I can’t promise I will have time to post them this week.
It makes me a bit sad because there are so many festive posts I want to write, and so far I’ve had time for none. But I guess that’s just how it is and I will have to accept it!
Things I posted a really long time ago
that we’ve all happily forgotten about
Things that are too cute for this world
Because cute animals are the key to happiness and this way I can pretend I’m being productive when I spend hours looking at puppies – “It’s for the blog!!!
I mean look at…
… this head tilt
… these gorgeous water puppies
… this perfect cuddle partner
What do you want to achieve this week? Let me know in the comments!
