Don’t wait until you’ve reached your goal to be proud of yourself. Be proud of yourself for every step you make in the right direction.
A little over a year ago I set an important goal: I was going to run my first race, a 5K.
My training had been great for 1-2 months, and I thought I was finally recovered from my injury. Only a few weeks later, I stopped running completely, and I haven’t done regularly since.
Being injured, especially for so long, is very hard.
If I compare myself to others, I always come out weak – It seems like everybody is running faster, lifting heaving, doing better.
But I’m still making an effort, and I’m working hard to get better. I don’t know if I’ll ever run a race, but I’ll reach my goal of living an active lifestyle pain-free, and I will be proud of every step I take in that direction.
