What can I put on top of my waffles?
… Is what I asked myself when I was making waffles yet again.
I promised you I wasn’t done with the waffle-talk
Now that we have the recipe(s) for the waffles, it’s time to look at what we can serve them with.
Waffles alone is fine, but topping can really take them to the next level.
It can also turn a neutral waffle intro a breakfast, lunch, brunch, dinner or dessert in no time.
You can keep it simple, or take the extra mile to make it worth a special occassion.
Maybe you want to serve them with something sweet.
Maybe you want to serve them with something savoury.
Maybe you want to serve them with … fried chicken?
Apparently, that’s some southern-USA thing? I don’t know, it was too out there for me. Also, another American thing I’ve never tried is the butter+syrup thing on either waffles or pancakes. Maybe one day?
For now, I’m much more interested in giving some of these delicious toppings a whirl!
